Emily Johnson, MDI grew up mostly in Taylor Mill, Kentucky. I knew from an early age that I wanted to work with kids, so as a senior in high school I entered the GEMS (Guaranteed Entrance to Medical School) program at the University of Louisville with plans to become a pediatrician. While studying at U of L, I also was a member of the varsity springboard diving team for two years and coached diving at a few local swim clubs. After receiving my B.S. in Biology and M.D.degree at U of L, I completed my pediatric residency training at Kosair Children's Hospital in 2008. I joined the practice, already in its 60th year, in July 2008. I am a certified diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and a proud member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Greater Louisville Medical Society, and the Kentucky Medical Association. Although I enjoy general pediatrics, I also have a special interest in treating patients with asthma. My goal is to keep all my patients from needing emergency care for their asthma symptoms. My husband, Jeremy, and I were married in 2003 and have no children currently. We enjoy spending time with our dog, Yoda, and the cats, Anakin and Obie. We are both very active, working out at the gym or jogging in the park a few times a week. We also enjoy cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Cubs, but while I prefer to root for the Louisville Cardinals, Jeremy is a Wildcat fan. |
