David Katz, MDI was born in the Bronx, New York, and grew up on Long Island. While a New York Yankee fan by birthright, I migrated to Louisville to join the practice in 1981. I graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, and received my M.D. degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. I served my residency in pediatrics at the Long Island Jewish Hillside Medical Center in New York. In my final year of residency, I spent six months working in the Department of Pediatric Neurology, and continued my training in child development the following year as a Fellow in Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. In addition to general pediatric medicine, I enjoy focusing on child development and educational issues such as ADHD, behavior, family and school issues. I am a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a My wife, Barbara, and I enjoy living in Louisville. Barbara is Communications Coordinator at CTL (Collaborative for Teaching and Learning) and a freelance writer, and also performs locally in musical theater. We enjoy walks with our dog, theater and concerts, Jewish studies classes, photography and travel, including visits to our children, Jonathan, a journalist and a former international correspondent for the Associated Press, and Rebecca, a doctoral student in literacy education at Boston University and folk singer-songwriter. We are grateful to our kids for the joys and challenges of parenthood! I also enjoy working with computers, and continue to develop our practice website to promote patient education. |
